Opportunity: Skullcandy gave AdThing the chance to work on a campaign for their new collaboration with Realtree.
Insight: Most consumer electronics brands make headphones that are designed to blend in — they aren't designed to be a fashion piece. Meanwhile, consumers are looking for accessories that stand out.
Idea: Create a campaign that highlights Skullcandy's Realtree collaboration as a standout piece, allowing whoever wears them to stand out in camo that's meant to be seen.
Results.
After hearing us pitch our work, Skullcandy decided to run some of the ads — a huge shoutout to Adam Deleeuw for taking a shot on our creative. The launch ended up being Skullcandy's top-selling and fastest-selling collaboration to date.
